Analysis: West Chicago pays $5.08 for every $1 pensioners contribute to West Chicago Police Pension Fund
Taxpayers contributed 81.3 percent of the $2,674,620 the West Chicago Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $5.08 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.
In all, West Chicago contributed $2,174,000 to the fund, which saw a $458,206 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $427,412, or 16 percent, in 2016. Another $73,208 came from other unspecified sources.
