Analysis: DuPage administrators rank 58th in state for average pay
Administrators in DuPage High School District 88 earn an average of $138,038 per year, ranking 58th out of 864 districts in Illinois, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.
The 2020 average is 12.8 percent higher than in 2016 and 4.8 percent lower than in 2011. District administrators make 24 percent more than the state average of $111,293.
Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.
The DuPage School District in Dupage County enrolled 3921 students in 2019-2020. There is an average of 206 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 171 to 1.
