Analysis: Downers Grove pays $3.48 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Downers Grove Police Pension Fund
Taxpayers contributed 77.5 percent of the $3,468,829 the Downers Grove Police Pension Fund brought in last year, or $3.48 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.
In all, Downers Grove contributed $2,689,713 to the fund, which saw a $508,482 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $772,223, or 22.3 percent, in 2016. Another $6,893 came from other unspecified sources.
