Analysis: Bensenville pays $4.75 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Bensenville Firefighters Pension Fund
Taxpayers contributed 82.9 percent of the $1,182,160 the Bensenville Firefighters Pension Fund brought in last year, or $4.75 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.
In all, Bensenville contributed $979,547 to the fund, which saw a $287,899 increase in revenue over 2015. Members contributed $205,881, or 17.4 percent, in 2016.
