Analysis: Bensenville pays $3.82 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Bensenville Firefighters Pension Fund
Taxpayers contributed 79.1 percent of the $1,020,213 the Bensenville Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $3.82 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DuPage Policy Journal analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.
In all, Bensenville contributed $807,464 to the fund, which saw a $191,757 decrease in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $210,932, or 20.7 percent, in 2018. Another $1,817 came from other unspecified sources.
