Addison FPD responds to 135 fires in 2018
Addison Fire Protection District responded to 545 calls in 2018 - 0.2 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.
The calls in Addison included 135 fires - 76 structure fires, 27 vehicle fires and 32 other fires. The fire department also responded to six calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $776,310 in fire loss - or about $5,750 per fire.
The department also received 404 false calls, including 12 malicious calls and 392 other false calls.
The calls resulted in two civilian fire-related deaths.
The Addison Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $18,018,796 in 2018.
The Addison Firefighters Pension Fund, which has 51 active employees and 59 retired or inactive employees, was $351,906 positive as of May 2017, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $2,146 for every fire in 2017.
