In late June 2023, funding for this project was approved by the DuPage County Board. As per information on the DuPage County website, the building will be connected to the Linda A. Kurzawa Community Center located in Wheaton. It is envisioned as an alternative to hospital emergency rooms and is intended to serve as a "single point of entry for all individuals, families, and first responders," according to the county’s website.

The county has provided detailed information about how this project will be funded. A sum of $15.3 million from the American Rescue Plan Act has been allocated by the county along with an additional $5.5 million from the state’s Rebuild Illinois Capital Plan. The Health Department will contribute another $5 million along with a $1 million grant from U.S. Congressman Sean Casten through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
