KEVIN WALLACE CALLS ON HIRSCHAUER TO RETURN TAINTED FUNDS FROM ACCUSED ABUSER REP. JONATHAN CARROLL

24

Bartlett, IL - Today, Kevin Wallace, candidate for State Representative in the 49th district, called on Rep. Maura Hirschauer to donate $46,600 in tainted funds from accused abuser, State Representative Jonathan Carroll.

Carroll is accused of firing a staffer who refused to have an abortion, subjecting her to a toxic and abusive work environment where she endured the type of harassment, intimidation, and retaliation known to occur in state government under Democratic rule.

“Maura Hirschauer has been silent on the accusations against Carroll. Campaigns should not be funded by known abusers,” said Wallace. “Rep. Hirschauer should do her part to help stop the culture of corruption in Illinois by immediately donating the tainted funds to charity she received from Jonathan Carroll.”

In taking funds from Carroll, Hirschauer continues her pattern of funding her campaign with funds taken from questionable sources. She previously accepted over half a million dollars from indicted former Speaker Michael Madigan, even after allegations swirled around Madigan and his closest allies, including a rape cover-up and allegations of sexual harassment in Madigan’s 13th Ward office.
