Gubernatorial candidate Sen. Darren Bailey (R-Louisville) greeted supporters in Naperville during its Labor Day commemorations.

"More Labor Day celebrations in Naperville today!" Bailey posted on Facebook. "This holiday weekend we are encouraged by thousands of supporters across the parades and festivals we have attended! People are excited about our movement and they are ready for change. They are ready to make JB Pritzker a one-term Governor!"

The Labor Day Parade in Naperville took place on Sept. 5, according to Naperville Local. The yearly festival featured local businesses, political candidates, marching bands, and fundraisers.

The DuPage Young Republicans posted about the GOP contingent in the parade prior to its occurrence. “Join Republican candidates Greg Hart, Rich Janor for Illinois State Representative and others for the Naperville Labor Day Parade,” the group posted on Facebook.

Parade organizers focused on safety. Beth Degeeter, co-director of the Naperville Jaycees, told ABC7: "Every year we are always talking to the police department, the city to make sure our patrons are safe. That is a very top priority. With the things that happened in the past months, we've actually had more meetings and more discussions just to make sure that everyone feels safe and is safe.”
