The state has charged Christian Frazee, 25, of Lombard, for allegedly approaching police vehicles with a Molotov cocktail, lighters, and a bat, DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said on Monday.

Frazee's bail was set at $1 million on charges of possession of an incendiary device and attempted terrorism, Berlin said in a press release.

The suspect, who resides at  925 S. Lombard Ave.,  was seen by a village police officer walking near the Village Hall toward the municipal campus wearing a hood, a face covering, and gloves at about 12:27 a.m. on June 1, Berlin said on the County of DuPage website.

“The arrest of Mr. Frazee sends the message that in DuPage County we will not tolerate any attempt to utilize the legitimate protests currently occurring as a cover to commit any type of criminal behavior,” Berlin said.

He said the police department's quick actions stopped a potential loss of life and property.

Frazee is scheduled to appear before Judge Jeffrey MacKay for arraignment on June 29.
