Clarendon Hills ranked 813th in state in lottery ticket sales for March 2016

The Village of Clarendon Hills had the 813th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of March 2016 -- up 4 spots from its February ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Clarendon Hills was $5.12 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Dupage Policy Journal, Clarendon Hills generated $44,397 in net sales from its one lottery retailer in March 2016, compared to $55,347 in March 2015.

The Village of Clarendon Hills is in DuPage County, and has a population of 8,676, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Willowbrook, Hinsdale, Westmont and Oak Brook.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in March 2016 was $30,022.46.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in DuPage County in 2015 were Bensenville, Wood Dale, Itasca, Villa Park and Addison.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
