Bolingbrook ranked 584th in state in lottery ticket sales for January 2016

The Village of Bolingbrook had the 584th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of January 2016 -- down 5 spots from its December ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Bolingbrook was $21.15 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Dupage Policy Journal, Bolingbrook generated $1,571,921.50 in net sales from its 24 lottery retailers in January 2016, compared to $1,162,629 in January 2015.

The Village of Bolingbrook is in DuPage County, and has a population of 74,306, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Darien, Naperville, Plainfield, Lemont, Romeoville and Woodridge.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in January 2016 was $42,258.22.

Bolingbrook's top lottery retailer is Home Town Pantry located at 114 S Bolingbrook Dr, Bolingbrook, IL 60440.

Home Town Pantry generated 12 percent of Bolingbrook's January 2016 lottery ticket sales and 1 percent of DuPage County's sales that month, which was $25,566,228.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in DuPage County in 2015 were Bensenville, Wood Dale, Itasca, Villa Park and Addison.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
