College of DuPage board lowers tuition, taxes
The College of DuPage's newly elected governing board voted Sept. 28 to revise the 2016 budget.
The $314.1 million spending plan will reduce tuition by $5 per credit hour and cut the school’s property tax levy by approximately 5 percent.
Students with a bona fide residence within the district will also see tuition drop from $140 to $135 per credit hour. Taxpayers in DuPage, Cook and Will counties will benefit from this property tax cut.
Board Chairwoman Kathy Hamilton said the cuts were the result of the newly elected trustees reducing unnecessary spending and administrative expenses.
