Road closures to take effect during Wheaton bike festival

Wheaton will hold a bike festival Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.

A number of streets will be closed from 10 to 10:30 a.m., including Front Street between West and Hale streets; North Hale Street between Front Street and Seminary; and Karlskoga between North Wheaton Avenue and North Hale Street. Motorists may encounter temporary traffic delays during the event.

Police officers will assist and direct traffic during the bike festival.

The city of Wheaton government includes Mayor Michael Gresk and six City Council members. Current members are John Rutledge, John Prendiville, Thoresen Saline, Phil Suess, Todd Scalzo and Evelyn Pacino Sanguinetti. City Hall hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
