In 2024, Winfield Police Department officers responded to 123 offenses, according to the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS).

This equals an average of fewer than one offense each day over 2024.

Among all crimes tracked by NIBRS, simple assault topped the list, accounting for 36 reported incidents during 2024.

The NIBRS aims to give enhanced detail and context for crime statistics. Previously, only the most severe crime in an incident was registered. For example, if a case included homicide, aggravated assault, and theft, only the homicide would appear in official statistics.

Law enforcement agencies at the local, state, and federal level utilize the system.
