In 2024, Willowbrook Police Department officers responded to 384 offenses, as recorded by the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS).

This figure reflects an average of one offense reported per day in 2024.

Shoplifting emerged as the leading crime tracked by NIBRS, tallying 91 cases for the year.

The NIBRS was created to add context and specificity to crime statistics. Unlike the earlier method, which logged only the most serious offense per incident, NIBRS documents each crime committed. For example, if a single incident involved homicide, aggravated assault, and theft, each offense would be counted.

Law enforcement agencies from local to federal levels use NIBRS data.
