DuPage County Intergovernmental Committee met Sept. 24

WELCOME, INTRODUCTIONS, AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Co-Chair Levin called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m., welcomed everyone and led the
Pledge of Allegiance. A quorum was present.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
6/25/25 minutes – Mayor Hundley moved to approve. Seconded by Member Evans. Motion carried.
MUNICIPAL & COUNTY UPDATES
Mayor Levin informed the Committee that the DMMC had signed on to a letter with other statewide coalitions of government providing their position on transit governance, funding, and local authority. Levin provided an update on additional legislative priorities for the DMMC, including e-bike regulations, FOIA, and pensions.
Committee members provided the following updates:
Honig: County budget and the DuPage Sustainability Initiative
Shields: Details on County budget
Schwarze: Federal government impact on DuPage County Community Services budget and food insecurity
Evans: Crisis Recovery Center grand opening, mental health resources, pet overpopulation press conference, and Hinsdale Lake Terrace rideshare pilot program
Hundley: Infrastructure, highway, and sewer updates and upcoming events
Puccio: Lombard strategic plan, budget, and home rule
Levin: Construction of new police station and performing arts center
Covert: DuPage County Member Initiative Program, federal budget cuts, and the PGA Tour’s donation to the County’s Crisis Recovery Center
OLD BUSINESS
Member Schwarze discussed the presence of United States Immigration and Customs
Enforcement officers in the County. The Committee discussed their experiences with federal agents in their communities and ways to help residents.

With no further business remaining before the committee, Mayor Puccio moved to adjourn. Seconded by Member Covert. Approved at 7:01 p.m.
