Augustana’s Kendle Mihm and Carthage’s Kendall Leistico have been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Swimming & Diving Student-Athletes of the Week, according to an announcement from the conference on Tuesday.

Mihm, representing Augustana, began her season with notable performances in freestyle events. In a meet against Loras on October 11, she won both the 50 and 100 freestyle races, recording times of 24.94 seconds and 54.92 seconds respectively. Mihm also contributed to her team’s victories in the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.

In subsequent meets last Friday and Saturday against Grinnell and Colorado College, Mihm secured first place in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.29 seconds. She finished second in the 50 freestyle at 24.82 seconds and helped her team achieve second- and third-place finishes in both the 400 freestyle relay and the 200 freestyle relay.

On the diving side, Kendall Leistico from Carthage was recognized for her performance during the opening weekend. Leistico added two new dives to her repertoire on the three-meter board and scored 145.00 points on six dives for three-meter as well as 140.30 points on six dives for one-meter during competition against Wisconsin-Whitewater. At the Wisconsin Showcase, she improved her scores to 148.28 on three-meter and 149.40 on one-meter.
