North Central College’s Kara Waishwell and North Park University’s Olivia Eriksson have been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week. The announcement was made Tuesday by the CCIW.
Waishwell received the offensive honor after scoring three goals and providing one assist over two games last week. The freshman midfielder contributed a late goal and an assist in North Central’s 4-1 win over Millikin on Wednesday, then scored twice in Saturday’s match against Carthage. This marked her first game with multiple goals.
Eriksson earned defensive recognition for her performance in North Park’s 3-0 victory at Carroll on Saturday. She played all 90 minutes, scored a goal from her only shot, and helped disrupt several plays defensively.
