Maureen Harty Executive Director | College Conference Of Wisconsin And Illinois
BJ Sorg from North Central College has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week, according to an announcement from the league office on Tuesday.
Sorg earned this recognition after finishing sixth overall in the gold race at the Augustana Interregional Invitational, which took place last Saturday at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island. He completed the race with a time of 24:23, helping North Central secure a fifth-place team finish among twelve ranked teams competing at the event.
This is not Sorg's first honor this season. The list of 2025 CCIW Men's Cross Country Student-Athletes of the Week includes multiple North Central athletes, highlighting strong performances throughout the fall. Other honorees include Nolan Crooks and Ari Elmayan from North Central, Jacob Curulewski from Carthage, and David Valkanov from Elmhurst.
