North Central University has maintained its position as the top team in NCAA Division III football, according to the latest D3football.com Top 25 and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches’ Polls released this week. The Cardinals remain undefeated with a 6-0 overall record and a 5-0 mark in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), following a decisive 75-0 victory over North Park on Saturday.
In the D3football.com poll, North Central received 23 first-place votes and totaled 623 points. The AFCA poll saw the team earn all 52 first-place votes, accumulating 1,300 points for another unanimous number one ranking.
Wheaton College also moved up in national rankings. After defeating Carthage 47-21, Wheaton rose to number 20 in the D3football.com poll with 144 points and held its position at number 22 in the AFCA poll with 214 points.
Washington University (WashU) received eight points in the coaches’ poll and one point from D3football.com voters. Augustana was recognized by one coach’s ballot for a single point in the AFCA poll.
