North Central College’s Joseph Sargent and Wheaton College’s Jack Krahel have been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week.
Sargent, a freshman forward at North Central, scored three goals and provided an assist in two victories for the Cardinals last week. In a match against Trine, Sargent scored the only goal in the 54th minute, securing a 1-0 win. He then contributed two goals and his first career assist in a win over Dominican.
Krahel, representing Wheaton as goalkeeper, recorded two shutouts last week against Kalamazoo and North Park. He made four saves in each match and now has three consecutive shutouts.
The CCIW also listed previous recipients of its weekly offensive and defensive honors for men’s soccer during the 2025 season. Offensive honorees include Javi Landin from Augustana (Sept. 30), Alexander Gahm from North Park (Sept. 23), Vidar Rydell from North Park (Sept. 16), Mathias Soerum from North Park (Sept. 9), and Luke Vander Kolk from Wheaton (Sept. 2). Defensive honorees are Sam Kedzior from Illinois Wesleyan (Sept. 30), Chase Mandra from Millikin (Sept. 23), Griffin French from North Central and Andrew Herringa from Wheaton (both Sept. 16), Christian Smith from Millikin (Sept. 9), and Kevin Perez from North Park (Sept. 2).
