Maureen Harty Executive Director | College Conference Of Wisconsin And Illinois
Carthage College senior Xingchen Liu has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week in women’s tennis, according to an announcement from the league office. Liu reached the semifinals in the singles draw at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional held last weekend in St. Peter, Minnesota.
Liu began her tournament with a bye and then won four consecutive matches in straight sets over three days. Her victories were against Maddie Parker from Gustavus Adolphus, Hannah Cody and Caitlyn Stadter from Wisconsin-La Crosse, and Kiera Healy from Grinnell.
The CCIW also listed previous recipients of the Women’s Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week honor for the 2025-26 season: Madeline Gentry from Wheaton on September 17, Maddy Harned from Augustana on September 10, and Alexandra Pugachova from North Park on September 3.
