Illinois Wesleyan University’s volleyball team has reached its highest national ranking in program history, moving up to No. 7 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll released Tuesday. The Titans maintained an undefeated record, winning all four matches last week, including a conference opener sweep against Wheaton and three victories at the IWU Tournament II over Wittenberg, Rose-Hulman, and Coe—teams that had received votes in the previous poll.

These wins brought Illinois Wesleyan’s season record to 11-0, marking their best start to date. The team received 1,585 points in the poll and advanced three spots from their previous position.

Carthage College also entered the national rankings for the first time this season, tying at No. 25 with Carnegie Mellon after accumulating 156 points each. Carthage secured its sixth straight win during Friday’s league opener against Augustana and now holds a 9-1 overall record.

North Park University is also on a winning streak with eight consecutive victories since September 12. The team now stands at 14-2 overall and received six points in this week’s AVCA rankings.

Illinois Wesleyan's recent success includes strong performances within the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), as seen by their victory over Wheaton during the conference opener.
