Illinois Wesleyan University senior Myles Lahart has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week. Lahart earned this recognition after finishing second at the Carthage Firebird Fall Classic, which took place last week at Ives Grove Golf Links and Strawberry Creek Golf Club.

Lahart began the tournament with a career-best opening round score of four-under 68. He followed that performance with a one-under 71 in the final round, bringing his total for 36 holes to 139. This score marked his best 36-hole result and was also the top finish among CCIW competitors at the event.

The CCIW also recognized Bo Smith from Elmhurst on September 10 and Trevor Biggerstaff from Millikin on September 3 as Men’s Golf Student-Athletes of the Week for previous performances.

"Myles Lahart finished second at the Carthage Firebird Fall Classic last week at Ives Grove Golf Links and Strawberry Creek Golf Club to lock down College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Golf Student-Athlete of the Week honors on Wednesday."

"After an opening round of four-under 68, which was a career best, Lahart shot a final round one-under 71 for a 36-hole total of 139. His solo second-place finish was a team-best and his 36-hole total was the best of his career. Lahart was the CCIW’s top finisher at the tournament."
