Illinois Wesleyan University has moved up to the No. 10 spot in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll, released Tuesday. The team climbed four places from its previous ranking, following a three-set win at DePauw that improved its record to 7-0—the best start in program history.
The Titans have swept their last six matches and received 1,286 points in this week’s rankings.
Wisconsin-Whitewater remains undefeated with a 10-0 record and leads the poll as the new top-ranked team, earning 69 first-place votes and 2,116 points. La Verne advanced three spots to second place with 12 first-place votes and 2,040 points. Wisconsin-Oshkosh holds third place with two first-place votes and 1,894 points. Juniata dropped from No. 1 to No. 4 but still retained two first-place votes, while East Texas Baptist is ranked fifth.
Carthage College’s Firebirds (8-1) are just outside the top 25 after winning five consecutive matches since September 6; they collected a total of 95 points.
