North Park and Millikin football players were recognized for their performances in non-conference games, as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Football Student-Athletes of the Week.

Jereme Ombogo of North Park received offensive honors after making six catches for 198 yards and three touchdowns during the Vikings’ 35-19 victory over Ripon on September 6. According to the CCIW, Ombogo scored all three touchdowns in the first half, contributing to a 21-0 lead for North Park. Each touchdown was on a play of at least 37 yards, including a 98-yard pass from quarterback Justen Green at the start of the second quarter.

Alex Araiza, a senior linebacker from Millikin, was named defensive player of the week. Araiza recorded nine tackles, two tackles for loss, and recovered a fumble in Millikin’s 33-3 win against Luther on September 6. He also made a sack for Millikin University, which achieved its first win since 2022 under new head coach Billy Riebock.

For special teams, Wesley McCloud from North Park was recognized after returning two kickoffs for a total of 123 yards. His performance included a 95-yard return for a touchdown to begin the second half in North Park’s win at Ripon.
