Millikin University’s Izzy Jones and Carthage College’s Ainsley Stallworth have been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Soccer Student-Athletes of the Week following notable performances in recent non-conference matches.
Jones, representing Millikin, contributed two goals and an assist in a 6-0 win over Monmouth. Both goals came within five minutes early in the second half. In a subsequent match against Westminster, Jones assisted on Alanna Smith’s goal during the 53rd minute, helping secure a 2-1 victory for Millikin.
Stallworth, a senior at Carthage from Fresno, California, posted a 0.33 goals-against average and achieved a .938 save percentage over three games last week. She recorded seven saves in Carthage’s 2-0 shutout against Concordia Chicago and followed up with six saves in a scoreless draw versus Concordia Wisconsin. Stallworth also made five saves as Carthage earned a 2-1 win over Bethel.
The CCIW continues to recognize student-athletes weekly for their achievements during the season. Previous honorees include Kelli Coughlin from Elmhurst for offensive performance and Nora Simon from Elmhurst for defensive play.
