McCloy says protests led by Wheaton’s Casa DuPage Workers’ Center part of ‘coordinated left-wing chaos’

As a wave of politically charged demonstrations prepares to sweep across northern Illinois on Saturday, June 14—including the “No Kings” protests and Casa DuPage Workers’ Center’s Flag Day march—one suburban activist is sounding the alarm, calling the events a “deliberately coordinated attack” on law-abiding communities.

Kristina McCloy, founder of the group Concerned Parents of Hinsdale, said in a recent interview that certain organizations are using civil rights and immigrant advocacy as a cover for disruptive activities.

She said her views are shared by some suburban residents who believe the protests are driven more by political motives than by advocacy.

“The riots and unrest that started in LA and moved to various other cities last weekend, are not some sort of organic manifestation of disaffected groups,” McCloy told DuPage Policy Journal. “It is a deliberately coordinated attack on our communities and infrastructure by the same well-funded leftist groups that organized the BLM summer of terror in our cities.”

Her comments come amid a tense atmosphere, following a violent anti-ICE rally led in part by Casa DuPage Workers’ Center in Chicago on June 10 that resulted in 17 arrests, vandalized police vehicles, defaced monuments and injuries to multiple officers.

Critics and witnesses said the protest was marked by strategic tactics designed to overwhelm police—raising fears that upcoming suburban protests could see similar levels of disruption.

Saturday’s protests include multiple “No Kings” demonstrations scheduled across DuPage County focused on the communities of Naperville, Lisle, Warrenville and Elmhurst.

The campaign, known for its anti-authoritarian messaging, has sparked both grassroots support and political backlash.

Casa DuPage Workers’ Center are also staging a Flag Day protest in Wheaton, branding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as a force of “terror” and mocking President Donald Trump—whose birthday falls on June 14.

“The Trump administration, with ICE's terror in our neighborhoods, seeks to change history through terrorism; that the United States, a nation of immigrants, is no longer a nation,” Spanish only flyer released by Casa DuPage Workers’ Center reads. “Not only are we going to show them this day that we are here—the land belongs to those who work it—and we are not leaving, but we are also going to teach them a little bit of history: no one is illegal on stolen land!”

Referencing the 2020 riots that left 15 dead in Chicago alone, injured over 284 police officers and caused more than $66 million in damages, McCloy called on law enforcement to act decisively.

“We cannot allow this to happen again, especially by criminals who do not belong in our country in the first place,” she said. “It is time to stop this left wing madness. I encourage citizens to protect their property and law enforcement to keep the peace using the full extent of the law.”

McCloy criticized what she sees as the recycling of radical tactics and imagery from 2020 protests, pointing directly to Immigrant Solidarity DuPage, also known as Casa DuPage Workers’ Center, and affiliated groups.

“Groups like Immigrant Solidarity DuPage (Wheaton), don’t even try to hide this and have even just recycled the BLM fist logo onto their own,” she said. “Leftists funding these organizations foster anarchy and terror, so the law abiding populace will be scared into submission.”

She also pointed to the recent arrest of a suspected illegal immigrant accused of distributing protest materials in Los Angeles, claiming it as evidence of a larger threat within sanctuary states and cities—including Illinois.

“An illegal was arrested handing out paraphernalia to aid in the destruction of L.A. from one of these groups, and unfortunately there are many more to come in sanctuary cities and states in this upcoming weekend,” McCloy said. “Law abiding Americans should recall the hypocrisy of the Democrats who forced them to stay inside during the pandemic for 'public safety,' while at the same time allowing rioters to destroy cities across the country.”
