City of Elmhurst Public Works & Buildings Committee met May 12

1. Call to Order:

Ald. Bastedo called the meeting to order at 7:00p.m.

2. Roll Call – Attendance: -

Quorum Present: 4 present - (quorum)

Also in attendance: Public Works Director Balicki

Utility Operations Manager Tuomey

City Engineer Sianis

Public Present: 1 resident

3. Public Comments:

• Kathleen Sullivan – Concerned that the City not bring the town back into flooding issues with new developments.

5. Business Before the Committee:

A. Minutes of the April 14, 2025, Public Works & Building Committee:

Ald. Bram motioned to approve the April 14, 2025 Minutes of the Public Works & Building Committee; Ald. Baker. Voice vote. Motion carried 4-0 (Bastedo, Bram, Baker, Irby). Minutes approved.

B. Committee Overview:

Public Works Director Balicki presented the agenda item. Introductions were made by Council/Committee members, followed by Staff.

C. Digester 3 Maintenance and Cleaning – Amendment No. 1:

Utility Operation Manager Tuomey presented the agenda item. Ald. Irby motioned to approve the draft report; Ald. Baker seconded. Voice vote. Motion carried 4-0 (Bastedo, Bram, Baker, Irby). Report approved.

D. Review of Committee Pending List:

Public Works Director Balicki presented the agenda item.

6.  Other Business:

• Crosswalks across Butterfield Road at Butterfield Park was discussed.

• Ald. Irby inquired about adding an additional light bar or making it higher on the assembly.
