Dan Proft, co-host of AM 560 The Answer, has expressed concerns that liberals are utilizing societal institutions to gain power with the intent to open borders and jails, diminish police authority, and instigate chaos. He cites the situation in Los Angeles as an example.

"Los Angeles is what happens when the illiberal gain control of society's mediating institutions, use those institutions to indoctrinate and thereby produce more of their ilk, install politicians, with the help of the political press corps amplifying and deifying the most doctrinaire, incendiary hustlers among them, who steer taxpayer dollars to NGOs in the name of identity equity providing a permanent campaign infrastructure of 24/7 subversion until a critical mass of political power is achieved so that they can do formally what they had been doing informally: open the borders and jailhouse doors, defame, defang and defund law enforcement, induce chaos, foment division and establish the warlordocracy that is inevitable when you attempt to use the state to create heaven on earth," said Proft, Radio host, political commentator and activist.

Proft's comments refer to protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) roundups in Los Angeles that began on June 6, coinciding with the raids. According to NBC News, ICE detained 44 individuals on that day. Among those arrested was David Huerta, who faced charges of obstruction. Huerta serves as the president of SEIU California.

At Ambiance Apparel, a targeted location during the raids, federal agents were reportedly searching for fictitious employment documents. This information was provided by Bill Essayli, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California. Demonstrators subsequently gathered at the Metropolitan Detention Center, a federal facility, to protest these arrests.

As immigration enforcement actions persist, there have been calls for the arrest of California Governor Gavin Newsom. Newsom has publicly opposed both ICE activities within the state and the deployment of National Guard troops to Los Angeles. A report from Time indicates that President Donald Trump suggested arresting state officials who impede ICE operations. Trump's border czar, Tom Homan, also proposed arresting Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. According to Time, Newsom responded by telling Homan to arrest him if necessary.

Following the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles—who are armed but without rounds in their chambers—the Trump administration announced plans to send an additional 700 Marines to the city. When questioned about this decision after previously stating in 2020 that "we can’t call in the National Guard unless we’re requested by a governor," Trump remarked that California’s governor is "incompetent."

Dan Proft is known as a co-host of Chicago’s Morning Answer on AM 560 in Chicago. He is a former Republican candidate for Illinois governor and holds degrees from Northwestern University and Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
