With only nine scheduled session days remaining before the May 31 adjournment date, the deadline to pass a state budget is approaching. Concerns have been raised due to the absence of a budget proposal from Democrat colleagues.

Adding to the challenge, the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget recently reduced revenue projections for FY26 by over $500 million. House Republicans have expressed their commitment to maintaining fiscal responsibility.

"We will not negotiate a budget with ANY tax hikes," stated a representative from the Republican side.
