Lombard taxpayers paid the 30th largest sum in sales taxes per municipality in March, according to Illinois tax records.

In total, residents paid just under $2 million in sales taxes during that month.

Lombard ranked 36th in the Prairie State the month before, with just under $2 million spent in sales taxes.

The largest share of sales taxes paid by Lombard residents in March came from the Municipal Sales Tax.

The revenue generated is destined to fund local government operations, public safety, education, and other community projects.
