Illinois tops U.S. for highest property tax rates, says ATTOM

According to a recent analysis by ATTOM, Illinois has the highest effective property tax rates in the United States. The study highlights that four out of the five top-taxing metropolitan areas are located within Illinois.

"This is one list where we definitely don’t want to be #1," expressed a sentiment regarding the findings. "Illinoisans need relief from this crushing tax burden!"
