Rep. Sean Casten, a current member of the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 6th District since 2019, recently shared a series of tweets addressing topics ranging from his STEM Scholars Program to recent economic measures taken by the Trump administration. Born in Dublin, Ireland in 1971, Casten now resides in Downers Grove and has completed his studies at Middlebury College with a BA in 1993.

On April 4, 2025, Casten tweeted about his ongoing STEM Scholars Program, inviting high school students connected to Illinois' 6th District to apply before the deadline on April 6th. The initiative aims to encourage participation from local students interested in STEM fields.

The following day, on April 5, 2025, Casten critiqued a new economic policy via Twitter. He argued that Trump’s unilateral 10% tariffs would lead to increased costs for Americans. Casten also included a statement from the White House, noting the President's engagement in a personal sporting event.

Finally, Casten provided a link related to these discussions, posted shortly after his economic critique on the same day.
