Rep. Sean Casten, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Illinois' 6th district, shared a series of tweets on March 26, 2025, discussing topics ranging from small business support to national security concerns.
On March 26, Rep. Casten tweeted about his recent visit to Righteous Kitchen in Lombard, highlighting the significance of federal resources for small businesses. He stated, "Last week, I visited Righteous Kitchen in Lombard. We discussed the importance of federal resources for small businesses that keep our communities running."
In another tweet on the same day, Rep. Casten addressed environmental issues by introducing new legislation aimed at reducing carbon emissions from power plants and large industrial users of thermal energy. He noted that these sources contribute significantly to U.S. greenhouse gas emissions and introduced the Tradeable Energy Performance Standards Act to tackle this issue: "Carbon dioxide emissions from power plants and large industrial users of thermal energy make up nearly 40% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. I introduced the Tradeable Energy Performance Standards Act, legislation to eliminate the net emissions of carbon dioxide from power plants."
Additionally, Rep. Casten expressed concerns regarding national security management in a subsequent tweet on March 26. He criticized the appointment of inexperienced individuals in key positions and called for accountability at the highest level: "We are seeing the consequences of what happens when inexperienced and unqualified individuals are put in charge of our national security. If the buck still stops at the President’s desk, he will demand the immediate resignation of all the individuals involved in this egregious."
