Rep. Sean Casten, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois' 6th district since 2019, recently shared his thoughts on various issues through a series of tweets. Born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1971 and residing in Downers Grove, Casten has been an active voice in Congress since succeeding Peter Roskam.
On March 8, 2025, Rep. Casten acknowledged International Women’s Day by honoring the contributions of women worldwide. He stated, "Today is International Women’s Day. We honor the immense contributions of the trailblazing women who have shaped the world for the better."
Two days later, on March 10, he addressed financial sector concerns with a new legislative proposal aimed at enhancing accountability within large banks. In his tweet, he remarked that "Banks that operate without a Chief Risk Officer jeopardize American’s hard-earned savings. That’s why I introduced the Chief Risk Officer Enforcement and Accountability Act..." This legislation would mandate large banks to employ a Chief Risk Officer and improve public transparency.
Later that day, Rep. Casten visited O'Hare International Airport's Control Tower to recognize the efforts of air traffic controllers. He expressed gratitude for their dedication in ensuring aviation safety: "Today, I visited the O'Hare International Airport Control Tower with Chicago air traffic controllers... We owe them our gratitude."
