Carthage's Ryan Morey named AVCA Division III Men's Player of the Week

Carthage junior Ryan Morey has been recognized as the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Men's Player of the Week. This honor follows his outstanding contributions to the Firebirds' recent victories, achieving a .450 hitting percentage in two conference sweeps against ranked opponents.

Morey's performance was pivotal in Carthage's win over No. 18 North Central, where he accumulated 30 assists and seven digs. He further showcased his skills with 40 assists during the team's sweep of No. 12 Loras, leading to an impressive .560 hitting percentage for the Firebirds.

These victories have placed Carthage at the top of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) standings. The team is set to play against North Park tomorrow at home at 7 p.m.
