Congressman Bill Foster, representing Illinois' 11th district since 2013, recently shared his views on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Foster, who has a background in science and policy, addressed topics ranging from public health to climate change and local economic development.
On January 22, 2025, Congressman Foster criticized actions that he believes undermine the World Health Organization's efforts. He stated: "It’s a scientific fact that the World Health Organization has saved tens of millions of lives. This action puts Americans at risk when the next pandemic inevitably strikes. So much for making America 'healthy again.'"
Later that day, Foster expressed concerns about environmental policies under former President Trump. He tweeted: "No matter how many lies Trump spreads, the science is clear: The climate crisis is real and it will take global cooperation to solve it. With one stroke of his pen, Trump has set us back decades in protecting our planet for future generations."
In another tweet on January 22, Foster highlighted collaborative efforts to support local industry in Belvidere. He noted: "I’m proud that federal, state, and local officials came together to provide the incentives to make this work for Stellantis and Belvidere, and we will continue doing everything in our power to ensure the factory comes back online as soon as possible."
