On January 13, 2025, we at the DuPage Policy Journal submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to DuPage High School District 88 in Illinois. The request sought information about the number of non-U.S. citizens currently enrolled in the school district.

The FOIA request was part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs. As a media organization, we believe that access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities, which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.
