DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Oak Brook Chief of Police Brian Strockis have announced that Judge Joshua Dieden has granted the state's motion to detain an Arlington Heights woman, Tiffany Main, pending trial. Main is accused of fleeing from police and crashing her vehicle after her co-defendant allegedly stole mail from multiple mailboxes in an Oak Brook neighborhood.

Tiffany Main, 32, appeared in court charged with two counts of aggravated fleeing and eluding and one count of misdemeanor driving while license revoked. Her co-defendant, Patryk Zubrzcki, 41, also appeared in court facing charges including possession of methamphetamine and identity theft. Zubrzcki was released as his charges are non-detainable.

The incident occurred on January 9 when officers responded to a report of a suspended license plate in the Timber Trails subdivision. It is alleged that Zubrzcki drove away from an officer before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot. He was later apprehended with approximately 3.7 grams of methamphetamine.

After Zubrzcki exited the vehicle, it is alleged that Main took control and attempted to flee despite deflated tires caused by spike strips. She continued driving until crashing into a median at 22nd Street and Butterfield Road before being taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit.

"Judge Dieden’s order to detain Ms. Main pending trial sends the message that in DuPage County we take crimes that endanger public safety very seriously," said Berlin. "The allegations...are outrageous."

Strockis added, "These arrests are a great example of our officers keeping our residents safe through technology, teamwork and pro-activity."

Both defendants are scheduled for their next court appearance on February 3, 2025.

The public is reminded that these charges are not proof of guilt; both defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
