Illinois' minimum wage set to rise in January

Starting January 1, 2025, the minimum wage in Illinois will rise to $15 per hour for workers aged 18 and older, and $13 per hour for those under 18. This marks the final increase under a law enacted in 2019. In Chicago, the minimum wage is already higher at $16.20 per hour, with annual increases tied to inflation or set at 2.5%.
