Organ donation in Illinois: saving lives through simple registration

Organ and tissue donation is a critical process that saves lives. In Illinois, there are approximately 4,000 individuals currently on the waiting list for organ transplants. A single donor has the potential to save up to eight lives and assist an additional 75 people through tissue donation.

Registering as a donor is described as both simple and secure. It is noted that most health conditions do not preclude individuals from becoming donors.
