State Senator John Curran extended his congratulations to Senate colleague Jil Tracy for an award she recently received. In a Facebook post dated November 15, he said, "Sen. Tracy is a relentless advocate for economic policies that make Illinois a better, more affordable place to work, live and raise a family."
"Congratulations State Senator Jil Tracy on receiving the Illinois Chamber of Commerce Bridgebuilder Award," said Curran, according to Facebook. "Sen. Tracy is a relentless advocate for economic policies that make Illinois a better, more affordable place to work, live and raise a family. She has dedicated her storied career to improving our state by investing in Illinois families and businesses with great success. Sen. Tracy's leadership on business issues is invaluable to our caucus and the people of Illinois, and there is no senator more deserving of this prestigious award."
Curran shared the announcement of the award in his post. The Illinois Chamber of Commerce recognized Tracy with the Bridge Builder and Champions of Free Enterprise Awards. According to the Chamber's November 14 Facebook post, Illinois Chamber President Lou Sandoval was joined by Bruce Guthrie, President of the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce, Keith Wheeler, Executive Director of Government Affairs, and Andrew Cunningham, Council Director for the Illinois Chamber, to present the award to Senator Tracy. The Bridge Builder Award is a new accolade for 2024 and is given to one member from each party in both Senate and House caucuses who exemplifies bipartisan leadership.
According to a news release from Senator Tracy’s office, the awards were presented in September. Tracy expressed her gratitude by saying it was an honor to have her work recognized with both awards. She emphasized that economic development has been a priority and working together benefits all residents of Illinois.
On November 13, Tracy shared photos on Facebook showing her receiving the awards. Her post highlighted her recognition as a Champion of Free Enterprise for defending free enterprise and job opportunities across Illinois. The inaugural Bridge Builder Award acknowledges lawmakers who effectively collaborate across party lines.
