A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was submitted to the City Of Wood Dale on October 30, 2024. The request was made by us at the DuPage Policy Journal, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
The FOIA request seeks access to records of all new residential and commercial building permits issued from January 1, 2023, till the present date. The specific fields requested include the type of permit, date issued, fee paid, requester's name, address, and contractor's name.
Additionally, we have also requested for a list of all active residential and commercial building permits along with their current status. Similar fields as mentioned above were requested for these active permits as well.
As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, we believe access to these public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We have also asked for a fee waiver considering our role in disseminating information as media professionals.
We await a response from the City Of Wood Dale regarding this FOIA request.
