City of Elmhurst City Council met Oct. 7

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

1. Executive Session - Mayor Levin called Executive Session to order at 6:47pm.

1.1 Executive Session for the purpose of discussing: Purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body, pursuant to the Open Meetings Act 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(5) and Pending/Probable Litigation pursuant to the Open Meetings Act 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(11)

Present: Tina Park, Jim Nudera, Emily Bastedo, Guido Nardini, Mike Brennan (phone), Rex Irby, Marti Deuter, Jennifer Veremis, Jacob Hill (entered 6:57pm), Karen Sienko, Chris Jensen, Michael Bram, Brian Cahill, and Noel Talluto (entered 6:54pm)

12 Present, 2 Absent at Roll Call

Also Present: Treasurer Curran, City Attorney Storino, City Attorney Acker, City Manager Grabowski, and Assistant City Manager Johnson

Alderman Sienko moved to convene into executive session.  Alderman Bastedo seconded.

Ayes: Jim Nudera, Emily Bastedo, Guido Nardini, Mike Brennan, Rex Irby, Marti Deuter, Jennifer Veremis, Jacob Hill, Karen Sienko, Chris Jensen, Michael Bram, Brian Cahill, and Noel Talluto

Nays: None

2. Call to Order - Mayor Levin called the regular meeting of the city council to order at 7:30pm.

5. Public Forum

• Christie Ainge - Spoke in regard to keeping green space.

• Michelle Platt - Spoke in regard to keeping green space.

• Shelly Nicholson - Spoke in regard to keeping green space.

• Tom Altergott - Spoke in regard to side yard setback and rewriting the ordinance.

6. Announcements

• Clerk Tamer - Announced the youth commission CPR event being held at City Hall, Council Chamber, on Sunday 10/20.  Middle School session 9-11am (currently full), and High School session 11:30-1:30.  Sign up on city website. Also, Early Voting begins at city hall on 10/21.  Information on city website.  

• Alderman Hill - Town Hall meeting for Ward 2 at Fire Station 1 on Thursday 10/10 6:00-7:00pm.  Also, Stories Behind the Songs is on 10/19 at 6pm at the American Legion.  Tickets on sale on the Legion website.

Alderman Talluto moved to accept the consent agenda in its entirety.  Alderman Nudera seconded.

8. Reports and Recommendations of Appointed and Elected Officials

8.1 Mayor Levin - The Mayor thanked Chief Dufort and Lauren Wolf for the open House over the weekend.

8.2 City Manager Grabowski - City Manager announced the Lions Candy Day is this weekend.  Also, budget meetings (COW) will begin in two weeks 10/21 after council meeting.

9. Other Business - None

10. Adjournment - Alderman Talluto moved to adjourn the meeting.  Alderman Nudera seconded.
