A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the Wood Dale City Council on October 15, 2024. The request was made by us at the DuPage Policy Journal, a media organization committed to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs.
The FOIA request specifically asked for a list of all council members with details including their names, titles, years of appointment, term lengths (2 or 4 years), and term expiry dates. These details are crucial for our ongoing efforts to hold public institutions accountable and provide transparency to the public.
As a media organization involved in gathering and reporting news to the public, we believe access to such public records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. In line with this, we have requested a fee waiver as part of our role in disseminating information to the public.
We eagerly await the response from the Wood Dale City Council and will continue striving towards maintaining transparency in local government affairs.
