FOIA Request Sent to City of Oakbrook Terrace Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024

FOIA Request to City of Oakbrook Terrace Regarding Unpaid Parking Violations on October 28, 2024.

In a bid to uphold transparency and accountability in public institutions, we at the DuPage Policy Journal have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the City of Oakbrook Terrace. The request was made on October 28, 2024, and seeks detailed information about all unpaid parking violations within the city.

Specifically, we asked for a comprehensive list of all parking violations that remain unpaid. This includes the name of the offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, the date when the violation occurred, and the total amount due.

As a media organization dedicated to providing accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, access to such public records is crucial. It enables us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and ensuring transparency.

We believe that as media professionals engaged in gathering and reporting news to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver for this request. We await a response from the City of Oakbrook Terrace and will keep our readers updated on any developments.
