State Senator Seth Lewis (R-Bartlett) and State Representative Amy Grant (R-Wheaton) are organizing an Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, October 5 in Wheaton. The initiative aims to protect the environment by preventing electronics from ending up in Illinois landfills.

“This free event will provide our constituents with the perfect opportunity to safely recycle electronic items,” said Lewis. “It is an efficient way for people to dispose of most old, non-functional, or unneeded electronics. More importantly, it keeps these items out of landfills.”

The event details are as follows:

- Date: Saturday, October 5

- Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon

- Location: Wheaton Park District, Rice Pool Waterpark Parking Lot, 1777 South Blanchard Street, Wheaton

Participants can remain in their vehicles while volunteers unload items for recycling. Accepted items include cell phones, computers and peripherals such as keyboards and mouses, computer monitors and printers, digital converter boxes, satellite receivers, fax machines, portable digital music players, scanners, small servers, TVs, and video game consoles.

For more information about the event, contact Senator Lewis’ district office at (630) 349-0645.
