The Friends of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County has welcomed new and renewed board members. The organization engages the community in philanthropy to advance the vision of the Forest Preserve District. The current board comprises 11 volunteers dedicated to conservation and the outdoors.
New board members include Mike Dyer of Wheaton, David Stang of Hinsdale, and Joseph Suchecki of Naperville.
Mike Dyer, a financial advisor with Edward Jones of Wheaton, expressed his enthusiasm: "I love nature! One of the many highlights I have living in DuPage is the many forest preserves that surround us. I want to be involved with helping that cause to preserve them and enjoy what we have around us."
David Stang, founder and president of Stang Capital Advisory LLC and volunteer site steward for Fullersburg Woods Forest Preserve, stated: "I hope my participation with the Friends will allow me to further my efforts to both improve the natural resources of DuPage County and expose more people to the benefits and importance of nature."
Joseph Suchecki, retired vice president of public affairs for the Truck and Engine Manufacturers Association of Chicago and volunteer site steward for Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve, commented: "I will use my knowledge of the preserves, experience as a long-term volunteer, and enthusiasm for protecting our natural resources to promote fundraising efforts and expand donations."
The Friends also celebrates Ashley Guest of Winfield, manager of financial planning and analysis at Calamos Investments, on her renewed term on the board where she serves as treasurer.
The organization expressed gratitude towards past and current board members for their service. They also thanked those who contribute generously through the Friends to support forest preserves.
"We strive to connect all people to nature. We're committed to promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and providing facilities, programs, and activities free from discrimination or harassment," stated a representative from the organization.
